An existing double carport under the main roofline kept getting flooded during heavy rains.
After some deliberation, it was decided the carport was to become an entertaining room. A retaining wall and planter boxes were installed across the whole front of the house to stop water from flowing down into the new room and under the house.
A new stud was installed and lined to close in the room and slate cladding installed on the outside as a feature. The fibrous cement ceiling in the carport was removed and replaced with plasterboard as well as new insulation. The decking was extended across the front of the house and steps made to access on and off the decking.
A new Stratco awning was installed above the new decking. Landscaping was installed to the planter boxes.
The concrete floor was sealed and carpet installed. A kitchen bench/bar was installed in the entertaining room.
